Details about Membership
| Corporate Membership | Open to recognised practicing organisations that offer in-house design services. There are two sub-categories for Corporate Membership: Three-vote membership or Five-vote membership. There must be a corresponding number of employees within the organisation who satisfy individual Full Membership requirements. Corporate Members must satisfy the Review Committee that they have attained an acceptable level of competence in their field. Each Corporate Member organisation is entitled the number of votes at the Annual General Meeting as that stated in their membership sub-category. Corporate Members are entitled to use the initials CDAS in their stationery.

| Associate Corporate Membership | Open to any organisation with an interest in design, design promotion and design education. They are entitled to use the initials ACDAS in their stationery. Associate Corporate Members have no voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.

| Full Professional Membership | Open to all designers working professionally in Singapore. The designer must be a graduate of a relevant design course from a tertiary institution recognised by the State it is based in. The designer must have been employed or practised professionally in this design field for a minimum of four years, and can satisfy the Review Committee that they have attained an acceptable level of competence in their field. Members of select International Associations with reciprocal arrangements with DAS may be automatically admitted to DAS (see Annex). Each Full Member is entitled to one vote at the Annual General Meeting. Full Members are entitled to use the initials MDAS after their name.

| Licentiate Membership | Open to all designers who have received a full-time education in design from a tertiary institution recognised by the State it is based in and have practiced professionally for less than four years. Licentiate Members will be reviewed automatically for Full Membership upon completion of four years in professional practice. Licentiate Member cannot vote at the Annual General Meeting. Licentiate Members are entitled to use the letter LDAS after their name.

| Fellowship | Fellowship is granted to Full Members who have by their professional standards and behavior, demonstrated their eminence in their respective design field. Candidates must be nominated by at least three members of the Committee for consideration. In certain cases, the Committee may propose a designer outside of the Association whom they feel have made a significant contribution to design in Singapore. Fellow members are entitled to use the initials FDAS after their names.
President, Vice-President and Honorary Secretaries are automatically granted Fellowship following their terms in office in recognition of their contribution to the Association. Should any President, Vice-President or Honorary Secretary not complete their term or office through ill health or other extraordinary circumstances, it will be the discretion of the Committee whether to award the Fellowship. | Associate Membership | Open to anyone with an interest in design, design promotion and design education. They are entitled to use the initials ADAS after their names. Associate Members have no voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.
Full Members who are professionally employed overseas may convert their Full Membership to Associate Membership. They will retain their links with DAS while abroad, and are eligible for reinstatement to Full Membership upon their return to professional practice in Singapore. | Paid Student Membership | Open to all students attending at the minimum, a diploma level design course from a reputed institutes of art and/or design in Singapore. Student Members have no voting rights at the Annual General Meeting. Upon successful completion of their course, Student Members are eligible for Licentiate Membership, if they can satisfy the Review Committee that they have attained an acceptable level of competence in their field. One time subscription fee for the duration of the course.

Free membership – for the duration of their course for students who commit to active involvement in DAS. Students must attend committee meetings and work independently in implementing tasks assigned by EXCO members. DAS EXCO must give written endorsement of the student’s participation after one year. Upon graduation and on application for Licentiate Member, student volunteers will be exempt from paying the usual $200 entrance fee and only the yearly membershp fee of $100 will be payable.
